EMS students win music awards

East Middle sixth-grade orchestra students participated in Kentucky Music Educator's Solo and Ensemble Festival and received the following awards: Layne Turner - Distinguished Violin Solo; Claire Dale, Lauren Temple, Layne Turner, Dharma Marion - Distinguished Ensemble; Claire Dale - Distinguished Violin Solo; Jonathan Thompson and Dustin Marlin - Proficient Ensemble; Jonathan Thompson - Proficient Violin Solo; Kiara DeGooyer, Rachel Dove, Lauren DeEsch - Proficient Ensemble; Kiara DeGooyer - Distinguished Violin Solo; Lauren DeEsch - Distinguished Bass Solo; Lauren Temple - Proficien
