Efforts help school

-A A +A
By Sharon Warner

Heritage Elementary received a facelift after being chosen by the Fifth District Kentucky Education for the Outreach to Teach activity. KEA picks one school per year for a beautification project and Heritage being selected, received materials for new benches that were built, trees and plants that replaced older landscaping items, and even a paint job on the Eagles on the front-yard sign. Funds for the event came from KEA and Shelby County Education Association. There were almost 40 teachers, parents and students – some from Kentucky State University – who spent a hot day this fall transforming the school. Principal Steven Rucker appreciates the efforts because the school’s appearance is certainly improved.
