Good Friday services today include morning prayer, 8 a.m.; Sacrament of Penance, 8:30 a.m.; 7 Last Words meditation, 1 p.m.; Passion Reading, Adoration of the Cross, Communion, 3 p.m.; Living Way of the Cross, 5 p.m.; evening prayer, 7 p.m.; Sacrament of Penance, 8 p.m. Holy Saturday events include morning prayer with blessing of the first foods of Easter, 9:30 a.m.; Easter Vigil (with the rites of Christian Initiation), 8:30 p.m. On Easter Sunday mass will be 8 and 10:30 a.m., mass in Spanish will be at 12:30 p.m.
The Easter Thorn Experienceproduction begins at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday and includes drama, special music, and a message.
Holy Week revival will be at 7 nightly through tonight, at 412 Henry Clay Street. The evangelist’s The Thundering Voices of the Coalition Pastor’s of Greater Shelby County will be presented. Music will be by local choirs. All churches are encouraged to attend and all are welcome.
Burks Branch Baptist
A Good Friday service and fellowship meal begins at 6 p.m. An Easter egg hunt will be on the church grounds at 3 p.m. Saturday. A Sunrise service will be 7 a.m. Sunday, followed by a pot luck breakfast. Easter worship is at 11 a.m.

Centenary United Methodist
The annual Easter picnic and egg hunt, sponsored by the CUMC Children’s Ministries, will be 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday at the pavilion at Clear Creek Park. The hunt is open for children up to fifth grades. Hot dogs and drinks will be provided, and everyone is asked to bring a side dish for sharing. In the event of inclement weather, the hunt/picnic will be held in the church’s fellowship hall. The message for Easter Sunday is entitled "Christ, the Victor." The chancel choir will present music at the 11 a.m. service. There will be no regular activities scheduled including the Confirmation Class on Sunday. The Stones of Passion scheduled for noon-3 p.m. on Good Friday, with communion has been canceled.
Sunrise service will be 7 a.m. Easter Sunday; Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. The choir will present the Easter cantata, Magestyat 11 a.m. on Sunday. There will be no evening services.
In celebration of "Our Risen Savior," a sunrise service will take place at the church at 7:30 a.m. Following the service a pancake breakfast prepared by our men will be served. Sunday school is 10 a.m. A Resurrection Celebration will take place at 11 a.m., with the choir and congregation singing the "old" familiar hymns. All evening services are cancelled.
Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m. The third annual Easter Egg Eggstravaganza will be at 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Finchville Park. There will an Easter egg hunt, inflatables, horse rides and food. There will be an egg hunt and prizes for all ages (infant to adult). Sunday services will be sunrise service, 6:45 a.m. (outdoors if weather is permitting); deacon breakfast, 7:15 a.m.; resurrection celebration, 8:40 and 11 a.m.; connect group, 9:45 a.m.
Finchville Ruritan Club
The Finchville Ruritan Club, located at 5596 Taylorsville Road, will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The Easter Bunny will be there to greet the children.
First Baptist Shelbyville
He Is Risen!, the Easter message by Rev. Stephen Rice will be delivered at both the 8:30 and 11:00 services Sunday. The choir and orchestra, during the second traditional service will be led by Rev. Gene Wright.
The Easter sunrise service is at 7:30 a.m. The sunrise breakfast begins at 8:15 a.m. Tickets are $6 each and the meal includes scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, fruit, juice or coffee. The Easter service begins at 11 a.m. and the ordinance of baptism will be observed.
Good Friday Service of Darkness and the Lord’s Supper will be at 7 p.m. Friday. An Easter egg hunt will be at 10:30 a.m.-noon Saturday.
Holy Cross Lutheran
Good Friday service is 7 p.m.. Easter Sunday service with communion is 11 a.m. Sunday, with Easter breakfast 9-10:30 a.m.
Easter sunrise service will be 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. The message will be delivered by Rev. Charles Ashby. There will be coffee and donuts following the service, and the regular morning worship will follow at 9:30, an hour earlier than usual. There will be no Sunday school this week. A gala will start at noon on Saturday and will include singing and poem readings followed by an Easter egg hunt. Sunrise service will be 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Minister Geraldine Spencer and Rev. Joe Overall will be the speakers. Breakfast will be provided after the service.
New Mount Zion

Pigeon Fork Baptist
The Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m. at Mount Vernon Church on Waddy Road, with Rev. Grant O’Dell officiating. An Easter sunrise service will be 7 a.m. Sunday with Rev. Bill Brumley officiating. The 11 a.m. service on Easter will feature special music from the choir. There will be a small Easter egg hunt and desserts following the service.”
Rockbridge United Methodist

There will be an Easter egg hunt and party at 4 p.m. Saturday for all children. Sandwiches and chips will be served afterwards. Sunrise service will be at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, with donuts, coffee, milk and juice following.

Easter Eggsplosion will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Simpsonville park, for all children preschool through fifth grades. There will be prizes for each age group.
Simpsonville Christian Church
The church will join Simpsonville United Methodist Church for a sunrise service at the Methodist church, beginning at 7 a.m. Sunday. The adult and youth choirs, as well as people from Shelbyville and the Simpsonville United Methodist churches, will present a cantata, O What a Savior, at the 10:50 a.m. worship celebration on Easter Sunday.
Simpsonville United Methodist
Easter Sunday schedule will be a sunrise service, 7 a.m.; light breakfast, 8 a.m., egg hunt, 10 a.m., and Resurrection celebration, 10:45 a.m. There will be no 8:45 a.m. worship service.
St. James Episcopal
Holy Week services will be 7 p.m., Good Friday; 10 a.m. Sunday, Holy Eucharist; 9:45 a.m. Sunday, Sunday school for ages 12 and under begins. Child-care services are available on Sunday.
