Bethel AME

Holy Week revival will be at 7 p.m. nightly, Wednesday through Friday, at 412 Henry Clay Street. The evangelist’s The Thundering Voices of the Coalition Pastor’s of Greater Shelby Countywill be presented. Music will be by local choirs. All churches are encouraged to attend and all are welcome.


Centenary United Methodist

The study "24 Hours That Changed the World” continues through Wednesday and includes visits via video to places in the Holy Land that relate to the last 24 hours in the earthly life of Jesus. The Stones of Passionwill be noon-3 p.m. on April 7, Good Friday, with communion. The annual Easter picnic and egg hunt, sponsored by the CUMC Children’s Ministries, will be 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. April 7 at the Pavilion at Clear Creek Park. The hunt is open for children up to fifth grades. Hot dogs and drinks will be provided and everyone is asked to bring a side dish for sharing. In the event of inclement weather, the hunt/picnic will be held in the church fellowship hall.


Finchville Baptist

The annual Easter Cantata will be Palm Sunday, April 1, with one service at 11 am and a church Easter meal to follow the service. Come and join us as the FBC choir leads us in worship. The third annual Easter Egg Eggstravaganza will be at 10 a.m.-1 p.m. April 7 at the Finchville Park. There will an Easter egg hunt, inflatables, horse rides, food and lots of fun. There will be an egg hunt and prizes for all ages (infant to adult). Easter activities will be lunch at 12:15 p.m. Sunday; Good Friday service, 7 p.m. April 8 services will be sunrise service, 6:45 a.m.; deacon breakfast, 7:15 a.m.; resurrection celebration, 8:40 and 11 a.m.; connect group, 9:45 a.m.


First Baptist Shelbyville

There will only be an 11 a.m. service Sunday, with a musical cantata, narrated by Steve Hornback, produced by the orchestra and chorus, children with palm branches and vocal soloists led by Rev. Gene Wright and handbells directed by Pat Cole. On Easter Sunday, April 8, there will be a contemporary service at 8:30 a.m. and a traditional at 11. Bible study is at 9:45 a.m.


First Christian

All children (fifth grade and younger) are invited to the Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m. on Saturday.


Highland Baptist

Good Friday Service of Darkness will be at 7 p.m. next Friday. An Easter egg hunt will be 10:30 a.m.-noon April 7.


Holy Cross Lutheran

Palm Sunday service with communion is at 11 a.m. Sunday. Maundy Thursday service with communion is 7 p.m.. Good Friday service is 7 p.m.. Easter Sunday service with communion is 11 a.m. April 8, with Easter breakfast 9-10:30 a.m.


New Mount Zion

Shelbyville Wesleyan

An Easter presentation will be at 6 p.m. Sunday. The children will share scripture, sing a song and tell some of what they have been learning in the Monday night kids’ ministry. Refreshments will be served in fellowship after the presentation. An Easter egg hunt and resurrection story will be at 1 p.m. April 7.


Simpsonville Baptist

The Easter worship choir will present Hallelujah! Praise The Lamb at 9 a.m. Sunday. Easter Eggsplosion will be at 1 p.m. April 7 at the Simpsonville park for all children preschool through fifth grades. There will be prizes for each age group.


Simpsonville Christian Church

The adult and youth choirs, as well as people from Shelbyville and the Simpsonville United Methodist churches, will present a cantata, O What a Savior, at 2 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary and again at the 10:50 a.m. worship celebration on Easter Sunday.


Simpsonville United Methodist

Easter Sunday schedule will be a sunrise service, 7 a.m.; Easter light breakfast, 8 a.m., Easter egg hunt, 10 a.m., and Resurrection celebration, 10:45 a.m. There will be no 8:45 a.m. worship service.


St. James Episcopal

The Eucharist is celebrated at 10 a.m. on Palm Sunday, followed by the monthly pot luck lunch. Sunday school for ages 12 and under begins at 9:45 a.m. Child-care services are available. Nonperishable food and/or money donations will be collected for the community food pantry. Holy Week services will be at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday; 7 p.m. on Good Friday; and 10 a.m. on Easter Sunday.
