Diagnostic Imaging Shelbyville has hired Neal Kimbell, advertising manager for The Sentinel-News, to be its first general manager.

Diagnostic Imaging, located in Stonecrest Medical Center, provides its patients with a variety of MRIs, CT scans and various other non-invasive checks. Owned by a group of physicians – Dr. David W. Wallace is the managing partner – the  practice had grown to such an extent that they believed there needed to be someone to manage the business side, Kimbell said. Kimbell, 50, who has a background in running his own company, said he had developed  an understanding of the company after his years of calling on it for The Sentinel-News. “I had pretty good knowledge of their business,” he said, “and I spoke with someone who told me they were looking for somebody to run their practice.” In his new role, Kimbell said he would be managing all aspects of the company, including vendor contracts, billing, personnel issues, marketing of services and a variety of other tasks. Kimbell had been the advertising manager at The Sentinel-News since 2007. Before that he worked four years in a variety of assignments for Landmark Community Newspapers in Shelbyville. For nine years he was co-owner and general manager of Corporate Mailing Concepts, a direct-mail company in Louisville that handled a variety of printing and distribution contracts. “I’m really pleased to be able to continue my career in Shelbyville,” he said, “because of all the relationships I’ve built here.” Sentinel-News Publisher Kerry Johnson said the search for Kimbell’s replacement is under way. “We always appreciated Neal’s commitment to sales and management and his professioinalism,” Johnson said. “We’re on the lookout for someone with those qualitiies.”
