Shelbyville Police and Kentucky State Police are continuing an investigation into an apparent drug overdose in Osprey Cove subdivision, according to officials.
Shelby County Deputy Coroner Jeff Ivers said Kevin Lemar Wilson, 42, died of an apparent drug overdose at his residence at 161 Grayhawk Drive.
Ivers said Wilson’s body was discovered by his girlfriend Saturday night, when she went to check on him because she had not heard from him for a couple of days.
Ivers said even though foul play is not suspected, police are required to do a death investigation anyway, because of the circumstances surrounding the death.
“It appears that he died of an accidental overdose of a recreational drug,” he said.
Shelbyville PD Maj. D. Goodwin said the investigation, which is still ongoing, is routine.
Burial will be in Wilson’s home state of Michigan.
