Christmas comedy at theater
Performance date for Shelby County Community Theatre’s production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, written by Barbara Robinson and directed by Rick Reinle, are Nov. 30-Dec. 2 and Dec. 7-9. The theater is located at 801 Main St. in Shelbyville. For more information, call 633-0222.
Shelbyville Christmas Parade
The annual downtown Shelbyville Christmas Parade will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 1 on Main Street. The event is sponsored by the Shelby County Fire Department. To enter a float, contact SCFD.
‘Jingle Mingle’ at Cornerstone

Corpus Christi holiday dance
The 6th annual “Spirit of Christmas Dance” to benefit Corpus Christi Academy is Dec. 1 at the Shelbyville Country Club. The program will feature the Monarchs and a $3,000 raffle. Doors open at 7:30, and the dance is 8-11 p.m. A full cash bar and complimentary hors-d’oeuvres will be available. The event is co-sponsored by Holy Family radio, WLCR AM 1040 and smoke free. Christmas at the library
Christmas at the Shelby County Public Library, 309 8th St. in Shelbyville, will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 1. Free pictures will be taken with Santa. There will also be crafts and face painting for children, entertainment, giveaways and refreshments. For more information, call 633-3803.
Christmas scholarship fundraiser
Christmas Wishes, a fundraiser for the Samantha Mathis-Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 1 at Pleasureville United Methodist Church. Many items will be available for sale, including products from Avon, Mary Kay, the Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, PartyLite, Paparazzi Accessories, Scentsy Candles and Scents and more.
Dickens Christmas festival
The Kentucky Renaissance Fair will present A Dickens Christmas festival from noon to 6 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2, 8 and 9 at the Kentucky Renaissance Festival grounds in Eminence. Admission is $5 per person, and entertainment includes scenes from Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol throughout the day, Christmas caroling and more. The First Presbyterian Church will present its annual Christmas concert at 3 p.m. Dec. 2. The concert will include a wide variety of music and musical styles. The performing musicians will include the First Presbyterian Church choir and friends, The Absolutely Brass Quartet of Louisville, organist Tim Baker and violinist Mary McGillen. The general public is invited.
Festival of the Trees
The annual Festival of the Trees at Amber Oaks Assisted Living Facility will have its silent auction and festival Christmas party at 4-6 p.m. Dec. 6. Amber Oaks is located at 156 Haven Hill Road in Shelbyville.
Christmas in Mount Eden

Christmas in New Castle
Christmas in New Castle will be 3-8 p.m. Dec. 7. All the activities will be held in The Locker at -24 S. Main St. There will be arts and craft/flea market booths. The twilight parade will begin lining up at 5:15 p.m. at New Castle Elementary School. The parade will leave the school at 6 p.m. Trophies will be given for the best floats. Lunch with Santa
Shelby County Community Theatre will have lunch with Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 8 at 801 Main Street. Pizza will be served for lunch, and photos can be made with Santa. Other activities will be face painting, bake sale, goodies and lots more surprises.
Holiday celebration at Red Orchard
There will be holiday festivities and crafts at the Miller Outdoor Education Center from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 22. Make your own snow globe, help decorate the center’s tree, watch the Jim Henson classic Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas, or relax to a cup of hot cider.
