Members of the Gen. Zachary Taylor Chapter Daughters 1812 invited the River Raisin Chapter and the Gov. Isaac Shelby Chapter SAR Color Guard to attend a grave marking at Machpelah Cemetery in Mount Sterling. A tailor by trade, a patriot called to arms, a farmer and a legislator to his state, Gen. Samuel L. Williams was honored for his participation in the War of 1812. He was a survivor at the Battle of River Raisin.
