Cross Country: Depleted Rockets finish 9th at SCHS Invitational

-A A +A
By Todd Martin

Running without four of the team's top seven, the SCHS boys' cross-country team placed ninth out of 17 teams Saturday in the Shelby County Invitational at East Middle School.

"You always hope to do well in your home meet, but it just wasn't going to happen for us this time," SCHS Coach Randall McDowell said.

Though he said he knew challenging two-time meet champion Butler and Butler’s Darius Berry, the individual winner, would be nearly impossible, McDowell said he was hoping for better results.
