Crime Stoppers seeks info on theft

Shelbyville Crime Stoppers is seeking information on a theft that occurred Thursday, Feb. 12, at Cracker Barrel.

According to Shelbyville Police, someone broke into a car in the parking lot at Cracker Barrel on Mount Eden Road while the owner was having lunch between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.

A black Vera Bradley purse and its contents was stolen. The purse was not in plain sight, but was under the seat in the vehicle. The purse and some articles of property were recovered the next day when the purse was discovered behind Sally's Beauty Supply in Frankfort. But several credit cards and a restaurant gift card were not recovered.

The loss to the victim was nearly $600 from property damage and theft.

Anyone with information relating to this incident, no matter how small, is encouraged to call. Crimes are usually solved by insignificant details. You can remain anonymous and still receive a cash reward up to $1,000. Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 633-4500.
