The Shelby County Fiscal Court voted Tuesday night not to accept the lowest bid on a road surfacing project, but, rather to accept a slightly higher bid.
Magistrates agreed with County Road Supervisor Carl Henry’s thinking that Shelbyville Asphalt should be the contractor chosen to do the resurfacing work on Webb Road rather than Louisville-based Commercial Paving, even though the latter would charge only $188,000 to Shelbyville Asphalt’s $190,000.
