The Cornerstone Christian Academy JV volleyball team just simply ran out of gas.
After playing for nearly four and a half straight hours, the Lady Bulldogs finally succumbed to fatigue, falling 2-0 to Heritage in the second championship match of the double-elimination state tournament Oct. 20.
The girls had split their first two matches on Friday, Oct. 19, beating Landmark and losing to Heritage. That loss dropped Cornerstone to the loser's bracket, forcing them to play four matches Saturday.
