Agriculture Commissioner James Comer invited all of Kentucky’s future culinary champions to enter the first Kentucky Farm to School Junior Chef competition. The competition was open to students in grades 9-12 representing their high schools in teams of three to five members. Recipes had to contain at least five local ingredients. The district winner with Hearty Harvest Chicken Soup was Shelby County High School’s team, coached by Vickie Coleman. Members of the team are Meagan Nethery, Ashley Davidson, Rachel Guenot, Nikiya Shively and Dakota Kaler.
