Forty children at Clear Creek Elementary are working to improve their academics, attendance and attitude. The GAP Group of African-American students meets after school each Thursday in small groups with about 15 teachers who are volunteering their time to help the children be successful. Assistant Principal Nancy Page and teacher Liz Ruff used Michael Jordan as an example for the children, who watched a YouTube video of the star athlete talking, followed by a book they read together about his life.
