Centenary United Methodist
Sunday is fifth Sunday offering day for the Methodist Home of Versailles. Monday is designated Mission Monday for Centenary's Youth. Youth will participate in mission activities beginning at 10 a.m., returning at 2 p.m. A sack lunch is suggested to bring. The pastor will entertain “table talk” at the parsonage for a time of fellowship and theological conversations considering a series of questions about life together at Centenary. The Richardson-Bardis wedding shower will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the CLC Building. Fifth Sunday evening service will be 6 p.m. Sunday at Elmburg Baptist; youth from area churches will meet in the CLC Building at that time. Church revival begins Tuesday and continues through the morning service of Aug. 5. Pastor Lee Bean, director of Open Door of Hope men’s shelter, is the guest evangelist, and Randy Spurgeon will lead music worship. A fellowship meal will be provided following Sunday morning worship, and there will be no evening services. The church pantry needs donations of food items to assist families in need. The church is a registered Red Cross emergency relief shelter and is open to the community in times of need.

Donations of new and used shoes to Edge Outreach create clean drinking water for people in need. Shoes of all types are acceptable – from flip-flops to high heels, from boots to football cleats. The "Picnic in the Parking Lot" will be tonight in conjunction with the city's street party concert series. Volunteers should start arriving to set up at 4:30 p.m. The church will go ice skating at Iceland Sports Complex, 1701 UPS Drive, Louisville, on Saturday. This is a congregation-wide outing, and friends are invited and encouraged. Children must be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them during the entire trip.
