Centenary United Methodist

Holy Communion will be served at the contemporary and traditional services on Sunday. Individual prayer times will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hunter's Chapel. The Upper Room Prayer Group will meet from 8 to 10 p.m. in the library. Adult and youth programming will be Wednesday, following the fellowship dinner. Approximately 40 adult chaperones and youth attended the Winter Blitz held in Louisville this past weekend. Between 95 and 100 coats were donated at the chili cook-off and will be distributed where needed. Future CYF activity will be the “Ski Trip to Perfect North Slopes” on Feb. 18.

First Baptist Shelbyville

Rev. Maurice Hollingsworth speaks this Sunday at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services.  He is in the midst of a sermon series on Jesus' perspective on the church. Shoes of all types are acceptable – from flip-flops to high heels, from boots to football cleats. FCC also is collecting used hearing-aid batteries, box tops, Campbell’s labels, eyeglasses, plastic bags (Kroger, Walmart, etc.), coupons (current or expired), canceled postage stamps, pop tops from aluminum cans and current magazines for mission projects. It’s February, so there will be a full month of focusing on family and relationships. Rev. Dave will continue part two of the series “The Real Thing” Sunday. We are looking at what real biblical relationships of any kind look like, and in particular in marriage. This week’s focus will be on the Power for Relationships from Ephesians 5:21. Great music is a weekly part of the service as well as a time of communion weekly. Identical services start at 9:30 or 11 a.m. with full youth programming available at both services. Our next session of Financial Peace University begins Wednesday.
