David Sills will be the guest speaker on missions at 8:40 and 11 a.m. on Sunday. He is the founder and president of Reaching & Teaching International Ministries as well as a missions professor at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Sills joined the faculty of SBTS after serving as a missionary in Ecuador. Special guests for Jan. 26 will be the Asante Children’s Choir from East Africa, a region recovering from years of civil war and genocide that have claimed millions of lives, leaving thousands of children and women as orphans and widows. The church is a collection site for Edge Outreach Shoes for Water. Donations of new and used shoes to Edge Outreach create clean drinking water for people in need. Shoes of all types are acceptable – from flip-flops to high heels, from boots to football cleats. FCC also is collecting used hearing-aid batteries, box tops, Campbell’s labels, eyeglasses, plastic bags (Kroger, Walmart, etc.), coupons (current or expired), canceled postage stamps, pop tops from aluminum cans and current magazines for mission projects.
