Centenary United Methodist

Kids Korner will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Wednesday evening programming will begin with the fellowship dinner at 5:45 p.m., followed by children, youth, adult and choir practice. Redwoods Small Group meets the first Monday of each month at 10 a.m. Focusing on service, the group is asking for small items such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion and toothpaste. These will be distributed to various shelters. Church council meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Centenary's youth are planning to have their community vegetable garden again this year. Around 1,000 pounds of fresh vegetables were distributed to help feed members of the community. The goal for this year is to double the amount. Volunteers are needed to maintain and harvest the garden. Youth will secure the seeds/slips and planting. Children's Ministry will have an Olympic-themed unit called“Team Jesus,” which will continue through February. They will be collecting canned soup for the Backpack Program.

The youth group will sponsor a Valentine's dinner from 5:30 to 7 pm. Sunday. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 633-3345. Donations will be accepted for the meal, which is a fundraiser for the youth to go to camp this summer. The church is a collection site for WaterStep. Donations of new and used shoes create clean drinking water for people in need. Shoes of all types are acceptable – from flip-flops to high heels, from boots to football cleats. FCC also is collecting used hearing-aid batteries, box tops, Campbell’s labels, eyeglasses, plastic bags (Kroger, Walmart, etc.), coupons (current or expired), canceled postage stamps, pop tops from aluminum cans and current magazines for mission projects. Build-A-Bed targets a very specific and often neglected community, the working poor. Many Kentucky children are living in homes with not enough beds or none at all. The mission of the Morehead Build-A-Bed project is to ensure that 75 children are guaranteed a proper place to sleep in their homes. Along with a handmade twin bed and mattress, each child gets a bedtime bag that includes a sheet set, comforter/quilt, a book, alarm clock or night light, stuffed animal and a hygiene kit.

Grace Assembly of God
