Burks Branch Baptist
This week begins the week of prayer for foreign missions. A special offering will be collected during morning worship service on Sunday for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Bring your spare change to donate to Sock-It-To-Missions. Amanda Grace Richey will present the mission study at 5:30 p.m.; Beijing, China will be the subject. The WMU will have "Cookies for Lottie" for purchase during the morning worship service Dec. 16 to raise money for the mission offering. The Christmas cantata will be Dec.  23 during the morning worship service, and that evening there will be a candlelight service, caroling and fellowship at the Price's. Cantata rehearsals will continue on Wednesday evenings and also immediately after Sunday worship services through December. Church-wide visitations will be at 1 p.m. Saturday. The youth’s mission trip will be July 20-27. Kroger gift cards are available for purchase for $5 to be refilled and reused as you shop, and the mission trip receives a percentage of your purchase. Sunday services start with Sunday school at 9:50 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m.

Clay Street Missionary Baptist

Clayvillage Baptist
In observance of the International Missions Emphasis, Steve Price of Burks Branch Baptist Church will be sharing his experiences on his mission trips to Russia, during the Sunday morning worship hour. Afterwards, the annual Christmas lunch will take place. All evening services are canceled. The student ministry will have a program for the residents at Colonial Halls Nursing Home at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. The youth will go to Christmas Town on Dec. 15. Cropper Baptist
Plans are under way for a church-wide “Walk Through Bethlehem” living drama on the evening of Dec. 16. Volunteer directors, actors, and stagehands are needed. Contact Pastor Joey or Sandy Powell to help. Co-ed volleyball league play is under way on Tuesday evenings in the CLC Building. A trip to see the “Lights Under Louisville” is planned for the children on Saturday; contact Pastor Joey for details. The church pantry needs donations of food items to assist families in need. The church is a registered Red Cross emergency relief shelter and is open to the community in times of need.

Dover Baptist
Sunday services begin with Sunday school at 9:50 a.m. and worship service at 11, with Rev. Marshall Phillips. During morning worship service, Wayne and Barbara Myers, missionaries from Swaziland, will share their work and ministry. The WMU Christmas party will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Claudia Sanders Dinner House. The church is taking up donations to help two needy families for Christmas. Elmburg Baptist
The youth host a spaghetti dinner on Sunday following the morning worship service, with donations accepted for the Youth Missions Project. There will be a baptismal service Sunday afternoon, followed by choir practice. Finchville Baptist
The Java Shop is open to begin raising money for various mission activities. December’s sales will be donated to the Lottie Moon Mission Offering to support missionaries on foreign fields. Coffee time will be 9:30-9:50 a.m. Youth, mark your calendars for the Christmas party at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Landers’ home. Finger foods will be served, along with a snack you choose to bring. A fun, gender-neutral gift costing no more than $1.99 should be brought for exchange. Guatemala trip is quickly approaching. The approximate cost is $1,250. Departure will be July 1, 2013, and the return flight will be July 7. See Pastor Jay as soon as possible if you will be going. Today is the last day to order poinsettias. Plants are $10 each. Designate the color, total number of plants and to whom they are in honor or in memory of.  They may be sent to shut-ins, hospitals, nursing homes or assisted living. First Christian
There will be a cabinet meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, followed by a board meeting at 7 p.m. The children's Christmas play will be presented during the worship service at 11 a.m. Dec. 23. The Christmas Eve candlelight communion service is at 11 p.m. The church is a collection site for Edge Outreach Shoes for Water. Donations of new, and used shoes to Edge Outreach create clean drinking water for people in need. Shoes of all types are acceptable – from flip-flops to high heels, from boots to football cleats. FCC is also collecting used hearing aid batteries, coupons – current or expired, cancelled postage stamps, pop tops from aluminum cans and current magazines for mission projects. First Presbyterian
This Sunday is Love Sunday. Donations of non-perishable food items for the food pantry, food for the Backpack Program, old towels for the Humane Society and bedding for A Place to Sleep will be collected as well as cash donations. Morehead State University Gospel Ensemble will be in concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday at New Covenant Church. The gospel group includes area Shelby County and Henry County students. This is a non-auditioned chorus consisting of 75 MSU students. This group is both a popular student organization and an active music ministry. The collection of clothing, all sizes, continues. Warm clothing, shoes and bedding are especially needed. Volunteers will prepare the lunch for Victory Baptist Church on Tuesday. Meet in the kitchen in Memorial Hall at 10 a.m. The Christmas tree in Memorial Hall will be after the service on Sunday. Eucharist is each Sunday at 10 a.m. and each Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. Child care is available on Sunday. Volunteers will ring the bell for the Salvation Army kettle at Kroger for 12 hours on Saturday. Eucharist is at 10 a.m. each Sunday and 12:15 p.m. Wednesday. Sunday school for ages 12 and under is at 9:45 a.m., and childcare is available for the 10 a.m. service.

Waddy Christian
