Allen Chapel

Bagdad Baptist
The adult choir practice is 8 p.m. on Wednesdays; the youth choir is practicing at 5:45 p.m. on Sundays. Both are preparing special music and working on the Christmas programs.

Bethel A.M.E.
A New Year's Eve service will be at the church.

Centenary Methodist
Because of school's winter break, there will be regular Sunday school and worship services on Sunday but there will be no Children's Moment or CYF activities Sunday evening. All Wednesday evening activities for Dec. 21 and 28 will be canceled including the catered meal. All articles to be included in the monthly CrossTalk newsletter should be submitted by noon on Wednesday. There will be one worship service on Christmas Day beginning at 10 a.m. Centenary senior high ski trip is scheduled for Jan. 13-14, 2012. Other events and details are announced in the youth office or church’s Web site.

Christiansburg Baptist
Paul Chitwood, executive director for Kentucky Baptist Convention, will be the guest speaker for the 11 a.m. worship hour on Sunday. There will be a candlelight service at 6 p.m. on Dec. 24. There will be an 11 a.m. worship hour on Dec. 25, but no Sunday School. Wednesday night prayer services will be 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall. Parking available at the basement entrance. Clayvillage Baptist
The choir will perform at Brownsboro Baptist Church in Oldham County on Sunday. The congregation from Brownsboro will have the drama portion of the program. This same program will take place at Clayvillage 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Cropper Baptist
Church members are asked to meet at the church 7 p.m. Friday to go caroling in the community. The choir will present its Christmas cantata during the Sunday morning service; poinsettia memorials and honors will be read during the morning service. The Children in Action will present the play Mary Did You Know? at 6 p.m. Sunday. Refreshments will follow. Candlelight service is 7 p.m. Dec. 21 in the CLC Bldg. Christmas Day service will be 11 a.m.; no Sunday school classes scheduled. The church council meets 7:15 p.m. Dec. 28. A gospel music extravaganza concert will be Dec. 30 in the CLC building; contact David Martin for $10 advance tickets.

Cross Keys Worship Center

Finchville Baptist
There will only be one service at 11 a.m. on Christmas morning. There will be no Connect Groups that morning. Come and join us as a family as we celebrate the only reason for the season. The annual Christmas Eve service will be at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 Join the Finchville Baptist Choir at 7 p.m. on Sunday as they present The Promise of Christmas cantata. Come early and enjoy a Christmas fellowship meal at 5:30 p.m. and a dessert fellowship after the cantata.

First Baptist Shelbyville
The church presents Searching for the King at 11 a.m. Sunday, directed by Rev. Gene Wright, a cantata drama featuring children and adult vocal soloists, narrators, drama, orchestra and sanctuary chorus. The 1-hour worship service will include a devotional by Rev. First Christian
The candlelight communion service is at 11 p.m. Christmas Eve. There will only be one worship service at 11 a.m. Christmas Day. Sunday School and the early worship service will resume at their normal times on New Year's Day. Kroger gift cards may be purchased from the church. The prayer chapel is open during normal office hours, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, for anyone seeking a quiet place to pray. The early service begins at 9 a.m. in the chapel, and the 11 a.m. service is in the sanctuary. Rev. Dave Charlton leads both worship services. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m., and there are classes available for all ages. A nursery is available during Sunday school and the 11 a.m. worship service. First Presbyterian
Christmas food baskets will be assembled and delivered at 8-11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Volunteers are needed to help with this mission. The children and youth will lead worship on Sunday with their Christmas pageant. Good Grief will meet at Wendy's Restaurant immediately following worship. Cub Scouts meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday; Boy Scouts meet at 7 p.m. Adult choir rehearsal is 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. The Evening Women's Bible Study Group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Bring a sack dinner. The church office will be closed on Dec. 23. The church will continue to collect 7-inch x 9-inch knitted or crocheted blocks for Warm Up America. Graefenburg Baptist

Greater Tabernacle Baptist
GTBC meets every Sunday at the Kentucky Utilities auditorium, 1100 Main St. in Shelbyville. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m., and worship service is 11:30 a.m. Rev. Leslie J. Harris is the pastor.

Highland Baptist
There will be no 8:15 a.m. service Sunday, and the choir will present the Christmas musical Heaven on Earthat 10:30 a.m. Christmas caroling will be at 4 p.m. The Salvation Army Angel Tree gifts must be returned by Sunday. The children will present The Light Before Christmasand the preschool choir will present a mini-musical Hooray for Baby Jesusat 7 p.m. on Wednesday with a reception to follow. Non-perishable food for food baskets will be delivered Dec. 22. Advent is Sunday and Dec. 24.

Holy Cross Lutheran
The church will have Advent services at 7 p.m. Wednesday. A light meal will be served at 6 p.m. Christmas Day service will be 11 a.m. There will be candlelight Christmas Eve service featuring children's chorale at 7 p.m. on Dec. 24. Living Waters
The Fervent Life Youth Conference will be Dec. 29 and 30, with three meetings per day. It will feature the Fervent Life Worship Team from The Ark in Florence, Ala., and it is open to everyone, especially youth groups. There is no charge for the conference, but registration is required by going to www.living-waters.org or by calling 502-633-0734.

Mount Pleasant Baptist
Christmas Carols will be Saturday at Little Sisters Home in Louisville. The van will leave the church at 4:30 p.m. and will stop and eat dinner following the caroling. A Christmas Eve communion celebration will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 24. Bring the family and experience a time of celebration of the meaning of Christmas. Christmas Day there will be no Sunday morning Bible studies but instead an old-time doughnut social in the fellowship hall beginning at 11:15 a.m., before worship. Children, youth and adult Bible trivia night will be Dec. 28. New Year’s prayer service will be 11:30 p.m. Dec. 31. Service will conclude approximately 12:12 a.m.

New Beginning Pentecostal

New Mount Zion
A Christmas musical, with special guest Julia Royston of Lexington, will be Sunday at 5 p.m. The New Mount Zion choir will also perform. There will only be the 11:30 a.m. service on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. A New Year's Eve celebration will begin at 10 p.m. Various artists will perform with poetry, music, praise and dance. Eucharist is celebrated each Sunday at 10 a.m. and each Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. Childcare services are available on Sundays. Those wishing to contribute money for poinsettias in honor or in memory of someone for the Christmas Eve service may still do so on Sunday. Warm clothing for those in need, all sizes, can be deposited in Memorial Hall. The music of the Christmas Eve service will begin at 7:30 p.m., and the service will begin at 8 p.m. On Christmas Day, the service will be at 10 a.m.

Waddy Baptist
The combined choirs of Waddy Baptist Church and New Life Baptist Church will present a Christmas musical at New Life at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The children at Waddy Baptist Church will present The Best Christmas Pageant Ever6 p.m. on Sunday. There will be a time of fellowship following the play with an expected visit from Santa Claus. There will be a Christmas Eve candlelight service on Dec. 24 at 10 p.m. The public is invited.
