Burks Branch Baptist

The Haiti Youth Mission Team will host a Beach Night on April 14 at the church. Centenary United Methodist
The sermon for Sunday, “You are witness to these things,” will be delivered by Xaiquiri Matthews, director of contemporary music. World Communion will be served, but there will be no children's moment or worship times. Suzie Kalz of the Kentucky Conference will present a program on Methodist Women in Serbia and Eastern Europe at the Lucile Smith/Harriet Poynter Circle Meeting, with is at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Wednesday fellowship dinner will be served at 5:45 p.m., with all other programming at 6:30 pm. The Local Mission Team will meet at 6:30 p.m. next Friday,  and quilters are planning a Friday night out, attending Chonda Pierce Girl Talk at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington. All graduating seniors are invited to apply for the Centenary Scholarship. Applications are available at the church office, with a deadline of April 15.

Youth camp will be July 15-19 at The University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg. Sunday is the signup deadline, and a $75 deposit is required by Sunday. The Youth group will not meet Sunday this week because of spring break. Youth group will resume at 5 p.m. on April 13. All youth in grades 6-12 are welcome to attend. The church is a collection site for Edge Outreach Shoes for Water. Donations of new, and used shoes to Edge Outreach create clean drinking water for people in need. Shoes of all types are acceptable – from flip-flops to high heels, from boots to football cleats. FCC is also collecting used hearing-aid batteries, coupons – current or expired, cancelled postage stamps, pop tops from aluminum cans and current magazines for mission projects.
