John Clinton (center) at Masonic Home in Shelbyville celebrated his 96th birthday on April 5 and received two special visitors from the Kentucky National Guard in Frankfort. Clinton was in the Army from 1940 to 1945 and served in WWII. He traveled to Germany, France and England during that stint. Staff Sgt. Adam Rients and Staff Sgt. Christy Rients brought Clinton a token of gratitude to celebrate his legacy of service. His desire was to have a flag presented to him by fellow individuals in the military.
