Shelby students accept scholarships to EKU

Four Shelby County students are among the hundreds of incoming freshmen and transfer students who accepted merit-based scholarships to attend Eastern Kentucky University. They were:

•Heather Amos, Shelbyville, Shelby County High School, Excellence Scholarship.

•Sarah Bryant, Shelbyville, Shelby County High School, Presidential Scholarship.

•Julia Kennedy, Shelbyville, Shelby County High School, Excellence Scholarship.

•Brittany Walls, Shelbyville, Shelby County High School, Presidential Scholarship.

Students who qualify for merit-based scholarships have until May 1 to accept them.

 

Hormell elected to Centre SGA

Jennifer Hormell of Shelbyville, a sophomore at Centre College, was elected to the student judiciary of the College's Student Government Association for the 2012-2013 academic year.

She is the daughter of Jim and Connie Hormell of Shelbyville, and is a graduate of Shelby County High School.

Centre's SGA represents students as their voice on academic, extracurricular and social issues.
