Neal on Centre College dean’s list
Chelsea Neal of Shelbyville has been named to the dean's list for the winter/spring term at Centre College in Danville, an honor reserved for students who maintain at least a 3.60 grade-point average. She is the daughter of Patricia Cooksey of Shelbyville and John Neal of Lexington and is a graduate of Christian Academy of Louisville.

Shelby students at Furman
Patrick Wallace of Shelbyville was one of 611 receiving top academic honors during graduation exercises at Furman University. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. David Wallace of Shelbyville.
Landri Tripp, daughter of Beth Tripp and Dr. Philip Tripp of Shelbyville, was on the dean’s list, which is composed of full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher.

Georgetown College dean's list
Several Shelby students have been named to the dean's list at Georgetown College for the 2011 spring semester, which honors undergraduate students who completed the semester with at least 12 credit hours and a 3.7 grade-point average. They were: Kelly Elizabeth Samples, daughter of Jack and Michelle Samples of Bagdad; Devon Elizabeth Stivers, daughter of Glenn and Teresa Stivers of Bagdad; Stacey Anne Page, daughter of Marty and Rachael Page of Finchville; Leslie Elizabeth Bryant, daughter of William and Amy Bryant of Shelbyville; Carolyn Marie Seligh, daughter of David and Lynn Seligh of Shelbyville; Taylor M. Shaw, daughter of Richard and Tamera Shaw of Shelbyville; Tyler Joseph Daniel, son of Bill and Cynthia Daniel of Simpsonville; and Amanda Jean Williamson, daughter of Mark and Julie Williamson of Simpsonville.

Shelbyville resident receives UK nursing degree
Amanda Jefferies, daughter of Bennie Jeffries of Shelbyville and Carolyn Jefferies of Pleasureville, was awarded a degree from the University of Kentucky College of Nursing at a special recognition ceremony held May 6.The UK College of Nursing offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, as well as two doctoral programs, the Doctor of Nursing Practice and Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing.

Shelby students accepted to Sullivan
Sullivan University has accepted the following local students for admission to the University beginning in the 2011 academic year: Courtney J. Moore, Cornerstone Christian Academy; Brianna L. Ellis and Nasha L Price, Shelby County High School; Kelsey J Walker of Shelbyville, Providence High School; and Richard Harley, Collins High School.
