The boys of spring are shining

-A A +A

Both Collins and Shelby County have fielded outstanding baseball teams this season. How good? Try a combined 38-3 record for starters.

By Josh Cook

In the words of the great Harry Caray, “Holy cow!”

That’s about the best way to describe the high school baseball being played in the county this spring.

Heading into Thursday night’s game at Grant County, Collins sported a spotless, 20-0 record. Shelby County, meanwhile, goes into tonight’s contest against Covington Catholic with an 18-3 mark. That’s a 38-3 combined record.

To play off one of Harry’s other famous phrases: That could be, it might be, it is… .amazing!
