Coming into last Friday night’s football game against Henry County, Shelby County senior Michael Barry ranked as the No. 2 receiver, statistically speaking, in Class 5A.
Against the Wildcats, though, it wasn’t one of Barry’s receptions that sparked the Rockets.
It was an interception.
Barry’s 30-yard interception return for a touchdown – a “pick six” as it is known – coupled with Zach Shipley’s 64-yard TD run early in the third quarter spurred Shelby County to a 21-0 victory over the Wildcats on Homecoming at Robert Doyle Stadium.
