Dustin Shouse of Shelbyville contemplated the mangled deer draped across the hood of his car. “It scared me to death,” he said, lifting the animal’s antlers. “It jumped right into the car. I thought it was coming through the windshield. And the car is totaled.” Shouse hit the animal on Mack Walters Road last week, an area that he said is “full of deer.” “I see them all the time,” he said. Though the front of his car is caved in, Shouse is lucky.
