A Bagdad woman was transported by helicopter to the University of Louisville with unknown injuries after crashing her car late Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened just past the intersection of Oldfrysburg and Bagdad Road when the woman lost control of her car and ran off the side of the road, said Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Tipton.

He added that when she tried to get back onto the road, she over-corrected and went off the roadway into a field, overturning her car.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and she was alone in her car.

Tipton said he does not know what caused her to lose control of her car, but that alcohol or drugs is not suspected as a factor in the crash.

Authorities are withholding the woman’s name until her relatives can be notified.
