Braden Seay, a fifth-grader at Clear Creek Elementary, was concerned when he heard the Backpack Program was extremely low on food and low on money with which to buy food for hungry children. He put a bucket on the front porch of his home with a sign asking for donations. He was "grateful to find bags in it" after which he piled all the donations in his basement before joining his family to take to the Backpack Program site. He said he remembers Christy Meredith, the program coordinator, saying he did something important but admitted, "I didn't do it alone, so I cannot take the credit."
