Aviation top honors

Two students from Shelby County were a part of the Frankfort High School aviation team that brought home first place in the SkillsUSA Aviation Competition. Students from eight high schools across Kentucky displayed their aviation knowledge at a statewide competition that brought together aspiring pilots and experienced aviation industry professionals. Eric Schreiner (second from right), a Shelby County High School junior, and Nick Hoffmann (right), a Frankfort High School student who lives in Waddy, were among the students who took home top team honors at the competition at Shawnee High School in Louisville. Hoffman also placed third individually in the Fundamentals Division. They are shown with (from left) Wayne King of the Kentucky Department of Education, Jacob Alvey and Stephie Jones.
