The practice of stealing metallic parts from automobiles for sale as scrap metal is continuing, police say.
Between March 31 and April 1, catalytic converters were removed from several vehicles located in the area of Old Seven Mile Pike and Mount Eden Road.
Also, during that same time period, an auto dealer on 7th Street had some similar thefts from autos.
Istvan Kovacs, community resource officer at the Shelbyville Police Department, said he does not have more precise locations for thefts in the Mount Eden Road area, because they happened in the county.
