‘Honk Jr.’ tickets on sale today
Tickets go on sale today for Shelby County Community Theatre's Youth Series production of Honk! Jr., music by George Stiles. The play is a musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling and is directed by James Ray Morgan.
Performances are Sept. 21, 22, 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 23 and 30 at 2:30. Tickets are $15 adults, $12 seniors, and $10 students. For reservations, call 502-633-0242.
Downtown concerts conclude
The annual downtown Shelbyville concert series concludes its summer run on Sept. 14-15. Lewis Mathis will perform at 6 p.m. Sept. 14 at the public parking lot between 6th and 7th streets, and the next night New Breed will perform at 7-10 p.m. on the stage in Founders Square across the Shelby County Courthouse. There also will be a SMART Car Cruise of vintage vehicles on Main Street.

Christmas show auditions
Auditions for Shelby County Community Theatre's production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, written by Barbara Robinson and directed by Rick Reinle, will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 23 and 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at the theater.
Roles are available for boys and girls ages 8-13 and men and women ages 35-60. Auditioners should be prepared to do cold readings from the script. Performance dates are Nov. 30-Dec. 2 and Dec. 7-9. The theater is located at 801 Main St. in Shelbyville. For more information, call 502-633-0222.
