Shelby’s Chenault plays

acts ‘Macbeth’ production

Shelby County actress Lynne Chenault is part of the cast of a new production of Macbeththat will open Friday at Josephine Sculpture Park in Frankfort.

Directed by Kathi E.B. Ellis, a veteran of productions in Shelby County, this is a women-centric interpretation of Macbeth. Ellis recently staged Fabric, Flames, and Fervor: Girls of the Triangleat Shelby County Community Theatre en route to show being presented at Manhattan Theatre Source, NYC, within blocks of the location of the original Triangle Factory,

The acting company includes performers from around the north-central Kentuckiana area, including Chenault and 11 other women.

Performances are June 3-5, 10-12 at 8 p.m. at the outdoor stage at the park, located at 3355 Lawrenceburg Road. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at Completely Kentucky and Wilson Nurseries in Frankfort.

History camp about WWII

A “World War II Shelby County at Home and Abroad” history camp is 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. June 21-23, sponsored by the Shelby County Historical Society. Campers will learn what was happening in Shelby County and in the world between 1941-1945 and meet veterans from Shelby County who served in the armed forces. In the grand finale, campers will present a USO show on the stage of the Shelby County Community Theatre, full of drama and songs of the war period. Story Hour at library

Story hour at the Shelby County Library is under way. Registration is required for each event. Call 633-3803, E-mail: youthservices@scplibrary.net or come into the library to register.

Tuesdays include Baby Time with Ms. Elaine 10-10:30 a.m., ages birth to 2-years-old; Toddler Time with Mrs. Sherry 1:30-2:15 p.m. ages 2-3. Wednesdays with Mrs. Sherry is Toddler Time, 10-10:45 a.m., ages 2-3; Toddler Time, 11-11:45 a.m., ages 2-3; Afterschool, 4-4:45 p.m., grades K-5. Thursdays with Mrs. Sherry include Baby Time, 9:30-10 a.m. and 10:30-11 a.m., ages birth-2-year-olds; preschool, 1:30-2:15 p.m., ages 4-5.
