Anderson tops Rockets for district title - Boys will play Monday in 8th Region tourney

The SCHS baseball team got behind Anderson County early, and couldn't dig out of a hole in an 8-3 loss Wednesday in the 30th District championship at Spencer County.

The Rockets got a boost in the first inning when John Hunter hit a two-out solo home run to left to take a 1-0 lead.

But Anderson County had answers.

The Bearcats got two, two-run home runs in the top of the second inning, the second one coming with two-outs. That gave Anderson a 4-1 lead and control of the game.
