Anderson teams are region’s best

There’s a new No. 1 in my 8th Region boys’ basketball rankings this week, but the top girls’ team remains the same (as it could all season).

BOYS

1. Anderson County (12-2) – The Bearcats move into the top spot after last week’s No. 1 South Oldham lost to Simon Kenton. Anderson, which is coming off a 96-93 double-overtime loss to Mercer County of the 12th Region, hosts Western Hills tonight before playing a pair of big games next week – Tuesday vs. Spencer County and Friday against South Oldham.
