Shelby County 4-H celebrated another successful year on Dec. 4 at the annual 4-H Achievement night.

Jennifer Hormell served as host for the evening. Each club and project group updated everyone on their activities and accomplishments for 2007. Each member in attendance was recognized. We also recognized our outstanding seniors, "I Dare You" award winners and the Matt Edwards Outstanding 4-H Citizen award recipient.

Debra Jenkins and Dakotah Donnely were named the Outstanding Seniors for 2007. This award is presented to youth that have been actively involved in 4-H throughout their school careers. They have developed outstanding leadership, citizenship and communication skills and can serve as a role model to younger 4-H members.

Lexas Perry and Connor Davis were awarded the "I Dare You" awards. These awards are used to encourage emerging leaders. We have seen potential in these individuals and want to encourage them to reach their full potential.

The recipient of the Matt Edwards Outstanding 4-H Citizen award was Tavia Harris. This is a special award to recognize a club member that is a friend to all and willing to give assistance to anyone that asks. These individuals are truly outstanding citizens.

Thanks to all the parents, leaders and volunteers who have helped our 4-Hers excel over the past year. We look forward to an even better 2008.
