Sixteen Shelby County girls will compete Tuesday in the Miss Shelby County Fair pageant.

Sixteen Shelby County girls will compete Tuesday in the Miss Shelby County Fair pageant.


A contestant must have reached her 16th birthday by Oct. 31 and shall not have reached her 22nd birthday by Oct. 31 of the year when the contest is held. Contestants will be judged from the standpoint of beauty, poise and personality.

At 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, they will compete in casual attire, followed by formal attire at 7:30. There is also a private showing in bathing attire for judges only.

Five finalists will be selected from the contestants, and a first runner-up and winner will then be selected.

The winning contestant will have the privilege of participating in the Miss County Fair of Kentucky contest, in connection with the convention of the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows.

The winner will receive $250 cash, a tiara and a silver tray. Miss Congeniality will receive a gift, and the runner-up will receive a silver tray.

The winner will reign at the Fair and must participate in other community-related activities including the State Fair opening day ceremonies.

The Shelby County Ladies Auxiliary sponsors the event.


Lana Jo Barnett is the daughter of Ralph and Sandra Barnett. She enjoys listening to Country music, shopping, playing with her niece and nephew and being a part of the 4-H Sewing Club.

Tiffany Marie Broughton is the daughter of John and Candi Broughton. She enjoys cheerleading, photograph, power tumbling, reading, running marathons with her grandma, mentoring 2nd graders, volunteering for Relay For Life and hospice, modeling and spending time with family and friends.

Kassie Bruner is the daughter of Scott Bruner and Anna Gordon. She enjoys playing volleyball for the Union College Bulldogs, hanging out with friends, working out and working at Wendy’s.

Catherine Collins is the daughter of Steve and Diane Collins. She enjoys being captain of Christian Academy of Louisville’s varsity soccer team, being a member of the varsity lacrosse team, harpist for community events, junior member of the Shelbyville Fountain Committee, a mission counselor for Christian Academy of Louisville, and secretary of student council.

Kayla Curtis is the daughter of Angela and Robert McClurkin and Tim Curtis. She enjoys hanging out with friends, working at Dairy Queen, meeting new faces every day, and being involved in FCA and Titan Nation.

Morgan Downey is the daughter of Heather Downey and Casey and Dawn Downey. She enjoys being a member of her youth group at Shelby Christian Church, participating in the Link Crew Leader Program at Shelby County High School to mentor incoming eighth-graders. She also enjoys babysitting, hanging out with friends and family, fishing, swimming and being a part of pageants.

Amye Elizabeth Drury is the daughter of Donna Whitis and Jeff and Brandi Drury. She enjoys hanging out with friends and family, trucks pulls, 4-wheeling, being a part of the Kentucky State University Nursing Organization, going to church, going on vacation, cooking new recipes, volunteering and helping people in any way she can.

Megan Ducharm is the daughter of Scott and Nicole Harer. She enjoys modeling and appearing in Nfocus Louisville magazine, riding her horses, being in color guard, attending church and being a part of youth group, and being vice president for FCCLA, Link Crew, National Honor Society and T2SC.

Kayla Green is the daughter of Sondra and Richard Green. She enjoys reading, writing, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her little cousins.

Callie Hite is the daughter of Karen Hite and the late Robert Hite. She enjoys being a member of two church youth groups and volunteering regularly for community special projects, being vice president of finance for FCCLA at school and a Link Crew member and color guard, where she has been a member for four years. She enjoys riding horses and volunteering at animal shelters.

Dakotia Skye Klicker is the daughter of Cindy Patterson and Dan Klicker. She enjoys, media broadcasting, swimming, tanning, shopping and spending time with friends.

Alexis Mariah Lentini is the daughter of Dominic and Sherri Lentini. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing volleyball, photography and volunteering.

Beth Ann Likes is the daughter of Holly and Doug Likes. She enjoys being a part of Shelby Christian Church, swimming, reading, going to the beach, BETA Club, National Honor Society, watching movies, photography, running, mentoring at Southside Elementary, volunteering and working at McDonalds.

Katie Marie Luttrell is the daughter of Thomas and Laressa Luttrell. She enjoys reading, swimming, volunteering for Amber Oaks and Masonic Homes, mentoring for special needs classes and being a part of KUWA, KYNA, Beta Club and Teen Court.

Brittany Perry is the daughter of Chris and Machelle Perry. She enjoys being involved with her church, working full-time at Kay Jewelers, being involved in student council, Junior Historical Society, FCCLA, FCA, students against alcohol and drug abuse, being a part of Homecoming court both her senior and junior years of high school, being a teacher’s aide in the special-needs class, being a part of Shelby Singers Choir and volunteering.

Taylor Shaw is the daughter of Richard and Tamera Shaw. She enjoys being a part of the Georgetown College softball team and Georgetown College intramural sports, playing piano part-time at Cropper Baptist Church, working on the farm and spending time with family and friends.

Ashley Marie Williams is the daughter of Mike Williams. She enjoys volleyball, hanging out with family and friends and excelling in school.
